Concurrent Intermediate/Senior Program of Professional Education

In accordance with Regulation 347/02, Accreditation of Teacher Education Programs, the Accreditation Committee, at its July 28, 2004 meeting, granted initial accreditation to the proposed Concurrent Program of Professional Education (Intermediate and Senior divisions) offered at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology for the period of four years or the period of time ending on the graduation of the second class of students enrolled in the program, whichever is the longer period of time, not to exceed six years (2010).

In making its decision the Committee considered:

• the final report of the accreditation panel
• the response of the Faculty of Education of the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, dated June 9, 2004, to the panel’s draft report,
• regulatory requirements of Regulation 347/02, Accreditation of Teacher Education Programs, and Regulation 184/97, Teachers’ Qualifications.

Amendment to Expiry Date

On June 23, 2009, the Accreditation Committee and the Faculty of Education at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) agreed to extend the initial accreditation period for this program to November 30, 2010 to enable all accredited programs at the institution to have a harmonized expiry date that aligns with the undergraduate program reviews conducted internally by the university.
