Overview

Additional Basic Qualifications (ABQs) and Additional Qualifications (AQs) are designed to enhance the professional knowledge, skills and practices of our members.

ABQs and AQs are organized by AQ schedule: A, B, C, D or E according to their purpose and content. Basic qualifications for teaching in the primary or junior divisions also exist.

Specialized AQ programs exist for:

  • Principal’s Qualification Program
  • Principal’s Development Course
• Supervisory Officers:
  • Supervisory Officer’s Qualification Program
  • Supervisory Officer’s Development Qualification Course
• Educators working with learners who are deaf or hard of hearing
