Academic Records
You must arrange for your university to send to the College the academic records for all the degrees and programs you listed on your application form. The College
will base its evaluation on these records. See Academic Records and Transcripts for details.
Statement of Professional Standing
A Statement of Professional Standing is required from the country, province or state where you completed your teacher education program, and from any other country, province or state where you are or have been certified to teach.
See Nigeria: Statement of Professional Standing to learn what is required and an address for obtaining the document.
Teaching Certificate
You must send a photocopy of your teaching certificate from all jurisdictions where you are or have been authorized
to teach. This applies even if you have never taught there.
For teachers who have taught in Nigeria in 2001 or later or who completed their teacher education program in Nigeria in 2001 or later
You must be certified by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria. Please submit a photocopy of your teaching certificate issued by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria. This certificate may be called a “Certificate of Registration” or a “Practicing License”.
For teachers who have not taught in Nigeria since 2000 and who have not completed a teacher education program in Nigeria in 2001 or later
If you were certified by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, you must submit a photocopy of your teaching certificate. This certificate may be called a “Certificate of Registration” or a “Practicing License”.
If the Ministry of Education in Nigeria issued you a teaching certificate (for instance, if you completed your teacher education program before your degree program), you must submit a photocopy of that certificate.
However, if you received your degree before, or as part of, your teacher education program, and have never been issued a teaching certificate, you may submit a photocopy of your teacher education diploma.
