1. Call to Order/Welcome

George Merret, Presiding Officer, called the meeting to order at 3:55 p.m.

2. Agenda (GC20041001-160)

It was moved by Steering, and

CARRIED,

That the Agenda for the October 1, 2004 Special Meeting of Council be approved.

3. Business

3.1 Bylaw Amendment — Section 21 re Annual Membership Fee (GC20041001-161)

It was moved by Patrick Daly, Chair, Finance Committee, “That section 21.04 of the bylaws of the Ontario College of Teachers be amended by substitution so that the section would read: 21.04 The annual fee shall be:

(a) $104 for 2005

(b) $104 for subsequent years or as may be amended from time to time, by the amendment of these bylaws.

This amendment shall not go into effect until the 2005 application year.”

It was moved by Janet Ouellette, seconded by Karen Mitchell, but

LOST,

That the question be put.

A vote was taken on the main motion, and

CARRIED,

That section 21.04 of the bylaws of the Ontario College of Teachers be amended by substitution so that the section would read:

21.04 The annual fee shall be:

(a) $104 for 2005

(b) $104 for subsequent years or as may be amended from time to time, by the amendment of these bylaws.

This amendment shall not go into effect until the 2005 application year.

3.2 Bylaw Amendment — Section 22 re Application Fee (GC20041001-162)

It was moved by Patrick Daly, Chair, Finance Committee, and

CARRIED,

That section 22.01 of the bylaws of the Ontario College of Teachers be amended by substitution so that the section would read:

22.01 A person who submits an application for a certificate of registration shall pay, for the consideration by the Registrar of the application under section 18 of the Act, an application fee of $116.82.

This amendment shall not go into effect until the 2005 application year.

4. Adjournment

The meeting adjourned at 4:10 p.m.
